We accept self referrals and third party referrals.
If the service has been recommended to you by another community organisation, individual or someone has contacted us on your behalf, we still need to have direct contact with you to book and confirm a consultation.
Upon making contact for therapy or supervision, you will be booked in for an initial assessment/consultation at the earliest mutually available date and time.
The initial consultation is an opportunity for us to get a brief overview of your history, therapeutic or clinical needs, and establish suitability to the service. You can also ask any further questions you might have about the service.
Following your initial assessment/consultation for therapy, you will be allocated to an appropriate M.I.T associate therapist.
Therapy sessions last 50 minutes and are currently online via Zoom or face-to-face. To manage the demand of a rolling waiting list, we offer medium-long term Intercultural therapy (up to 36 sessions).
We operate a 48 hour cancellation policy.
Cancellations are chargeable at the full rate if cancelled within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment.
There is no charge if you cancel your session with more then 48 hours notice.
Therapy is offered on the basis that you can commit to attending weekly sessions on the same day at the same time.
- Weekly Psychotherapy £45-£70 (concessions available and assessed on a case by case basis)
- Counselling students £60
Clinical Supervision Fees:
- £60 for counselling students
- £75 for qualified practitioners (60 minutes)
- £112.50 for qualified practitioners (90 minutes)
All payments are accepted via BACS/Bank Transfer payable weekly or in blocks of 4 to Mabadiliko Intercultural Therapy CIC.
All payment or other concerns or enquiries are to communicated via the main Mabadiliko Therapy email (Hello@mabadilikotherapy.com)
Talking to a therapist can help you understand your feelings, thought patterns and behaviours. This leads to a better understanding of yourself and enables a process of healing that renews the mind.
For more information on some of the approaches we use please click here.
Everyone has different needs and heals at different rates. During the consultation your needs will be assessed and you will receive a recommendation.
Regular reviews will take place during your therapy and less or more time will be agreed accordingly.
To manage the demands of a rolling waiting list we currently offer up to 36 sessions (9 months).
If you change your mind at any point, please communicate any concerns so that adjustments to your therapy or further recommendations can be given to you. We value your feedback and will do our best to work with you on your journey.
We also understand that having the right type of therapy and timing is very important; sometimes despite all good intentions, it's just not the right time or the right fit.
Please email Beverley at Hello@mabadilikotherapy.com or use the contact us page for further information.
To help meet the needs of the wider community and those less financially able to afford private therapy, your support and contributions are greatly appreciated. We are also fundraising for our new therapy centre and welcome your support.

African-Centred Intercultural Therapy (ACIT)
An eclectic approach integrating African-centred thought and Intercultural psychotherapy, which addresses
culture, ethnicity, identity and spirituality (CIES),
when working therapeutically to support individual
mental health needs.
The psychological impact of issues that affect racialised and minoritized groups are also observed through a
trauma informed lens.
These elements are integral to working with persons from minority ethnic groups.
